If you want a surefire way to have a fun wedding you could do what Lynn and Brendon did; bring in some belly dancers. I think it’s my first time seeing belly dancers at a wedding and I sure had fun time watching them…so I can learn a few moves..yeah..:) But really though it gets people in the mood to dance, and if there’s anyone who was having a great time it was Brendon’s father who was mimicking the belly dancers movements with the help of a napkin.

Believe it or not, it’s actually my first wedding on a beach, I’ve always wanted to shoot one for my portfolio and I’m happy that I got that one checked off my bucket list, and I’m happy that I Lynn and Brendon were the ones to burst my beach wedding cherry, because these two are in so much love they’re not afraid to show it to anybody! I think I saw more butt-grabbing and tongue action in this wedding than any other wedding! This Zuma Beach wedding held in front of the Sunset restaurant took place right as the sunset, I don’t think it could’ve been any more romantic.

I’m extremely grateful and humbled that I was able to photograph the wedding of Tam and Ed. These two both inspire and motivate me to become both a better photographer and as a person. I am honored to be here at the wedding of Tam and Ed and I am thrilled to present these awesome photos to you!

Tam is hands down the loudest bride I’ve ever photographed, but in a super-excellent way. If Tam was ever remotely close you would know because her laughter reverberates for miles. During her toast to everyone she didn’t even need a mic, neither did Ed but Tam’s still much louder. I’d say she was laughing more during her wedding than anyone I’ve ever seen, and she probably burns more calories laughing than I do doing px90 per hour.

I love Ed too, Ed’s got this mean intimidating look because he’s a wrestler, but once he opens his mouth you’ll realize he’s a non stop comedian. I don’t know how he does it, but he’s hilarious and together with Tam they’re a perfect combo. Ed just tells stories and cracks jokes and Tam just laughs. And I just sit there and watch (and take pictures of course.) It’s also a chain reaction because Ed will say something funny, Tam will laugh, and then I will laugh because Tam is laughing.

If you read my blog long enough you’ll know that the two favorite parts of a wedding are the vows and toasts because they’re so full of emotion. During Tam and Ed’s reception something I didn’t expect totally caught me off guard and threw me into an emotional frenzy.  Tam’s father who’s on a walker slowly walked up to Tam (in his walker)  for the father daughter dance, and when he finally got to her on the dance floor let go of the walker to dance. I have a photo below of how happy he is to be dancing with his daughter. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one crying, and it was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever seen at a wedding.

Out in the middle of the desert (Yucaipa area), there’s this nice little oasis called Serendipity. It’s one of those places that my GPS doesn’t register and has no major roads leading to it. But just like any other oasis, it was a very beautiful place.

While we’re on the subject of beautiful, I present to you an amazing couple and their wedding: Judy and Chris. Chris cried several times during his vows, which is one of my favorite parts of a wedding (the other being toasts.) Because he cried, my eyes got a little bit sweaty.

Judy is like whoa. Incredibly pretty and beautiful. Fun-loving and awesome. She was the first bride that I asked to do some bed jumping shots, and she did it really well and looked good at the same time. Only a few can do that. I also had her to do a few poses that also pulled off quite well. Some of her bridesmaids should work at the laugh factory, because they’re non-stop comedy.

Together, they make a great couple. Their first look was a joy to watch and photograph as Chris was smiley and antsy the entire time.

I also got to work with my wonderful friend Jessica Limantaro who was the amazing wedding coordinator and my friend Daniel Chin as my second photographer.

Usually there are good stories and then there are bad stories. But in some cases there are freaking-amazingly-incredible-I-cant-believe-what’s-happening type of stories. The wedding day of Mark and Serena is one of those.

One word: Pink’s.

And it’s the one and only word that could rival, or possibly beat (depending on your taste) the beautiful triple-worded: In-N-Out. If you’re not familiar with Pink’s (shame on you), they’re basically the king of hotdogs.

Serena and her bridesmaids got hungry after all the make-up and getting ready so they decided to go to Pink’s. The stories’ pretty good so far. We arrived at Pink’s in a limo, and we were ‘greeted’ by the usual long ‘Disneyland’-type line wrapped around the stand. Serena and bridesmaids easily fabricate a story, telling everyone that they’re shooting a new TV show from MTV to get to the front of the line. And …it worked.  But really, who’s going to argue with a hungry bride and her entire gang of hungrier bridesmaids? Some individuals even came up to us and asked us what show we were filming for, but luckily the videographer (who is a friend of Mark) actually does work at MTV quickly rebutted replying that the film was a pilot, and they weren’t at liberty to say. Soo smooth.

The story gets better. Out came one of the bridesmaids with a whole tray of hotdogs, each individualized with it’s own set of toppings, including but not limited to: guacamole, bacon, cheese, onions, and tomatoes. (See photo below) Of course, we ate them. Every single one. Oh, and they were all free! Courtesy of Pink’s! Thank you, Pink’s!

But wait, it gets better. Out of nowhere a Pink’s employee came out with another tray full of 12 inch hot dogs, and although they were plain and simple, they were even more awesome. The five hot dogs lined up next to each had mustard  spelling out “Pinks congratulates Mark and Serena” !!! (Also see photo below)

I have never seen bridesmaids eat the way they ate that day. My mind was blown.
