What I love about this wedding

1) The bridesmaids had beautiful colorful kimonos!

2) Scrumptious giant chocolate covered strawberries were at this reception

3) Shaved ice with yummy toppings were also at this wedding

4) The simultaneous father daughter dance and mother son dance became a father of the bride and mother of the son dance. It’s always nice to see two families becoming one.

5) One of my dude friends had to wear high heels as one of the reception games. It was legend…wait for it…I hope you’re not lactose intolerant…dary.

I’ve come to the conclusion that babies live like royalty. They spend most of their time sitting and eating and napping continuously. I would love to live that life very much.

This is Jaelyn. She’s very young, but she’s rather chunky (and I say that in the most adorable way ever) for her age. I loved poking at the different segments of her arms (as shown in the third photo.) Not all babies have the rare and highly-coveted arm divisions so I had to take advantage of it by pinching every single one. I loved it, it was super incredible!

Hi readership, intern Emilie here. Just helping out with the blog.

Firstly, thanks Erich, for picking me as your new intern! : )

Secondly, he asked me to blog a little about myself.  Well, I am sort of an art-loving, music-craving, Yoga-doing, vegetarian environmentalist wanna-be.  When I’m at UCI, I host a weekly radio show on which I spin obscure goth rock and punk tracks.  Maybe I sound like an artsy-fartsy cliché, but everything I do and believe, I am really passionate about!

I most enjoy wildlife and animal photography, but occasionally I will take pictures of people.

So to wrap up, I’ll be helping Erich out around and behind the scenes. He’s already taught me a lot of what I know about cameras and Photoshop, so I’m excited for more insight from a new perspective.

And even though this is a blog and not radio, I’m gonna say: stay tuned for more exciting news from Erich!

Meet Nicole and Daniel. Say hello. This might be hard to believe, but they aren’t models, they’re just regular non-model-y people just like you and me. But man they photograph well, don’t you think? Nicole and Daniel actually got married years ago, and they were one of my first few weddings that I’ve ever photographed in my entire life. They probably don’t know this but they helped me get my career off the ground by hiring me. A few years later, they decided that they wanted to do a trash the dress session, and here we are.

This shoot, in case you can’t tell is very fashion inspired. Daniel is a tall handsome man with freckles. Nicole is a young and beautiful woman, also with freckles. Freckles = fashion, duh! No just kidding but they are a really beautiful couple, and thats why I wanted to do a fashion type of shoot with them.I’d also like to describe this shoot, as “romantic, rustic, gorgeous, eye-gasmic, peaceful, and uh-may-zing.”

There’s a video coming out for this too, so you’ll be able to see what it was like working with them and in that environment, but better yet, this video is going to be very very different from the rest of my videos, so you’ll just have to wait to see what I’m talking about. Anyways, enjoy!
