You may have seen these two on MTV dancing or partying hard and touring with LMFAO. But today you’re going to see them on my blo. Ryanimay and Hok spent a day with me at the beach icon smile Quest Crew Day at the Beach

This was a concept that we all came up with and it’s been in the works for months, so I’m pretty excited that we finally shot and I’m finally posting this on my blog. This ended up being a really fun day with a lot of people staring at us and their was one car even who stopped to get pictures (not from me of course, but maybe one day) from Ryanimay and Hok.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that this is my first wedding where I had to work in the rain. It was interesting because nobody else seemed to mind the rain except for maybe me. That’s probably because everyone was from New York. I’m from Los Angeles, and rain doesn’t come around very often.

I was talking to a guy from the Midwest at a wedding I shot recently, and I asked him what the biggest difference between California and the Midwest is. He replied, “When it rains in California, nobody knows how to drive.” I agree. Californians aren’t used to rain. It’s almost alien to us. “Water falling from the sky? What is this?! What does this mean?!”

Yet another first for me at this wedding was this was the first time photographing a 500 person reception! That officially marks the largest reception I’ve ever photographed in my career. I think in a normal situation photographing a 500 person reception plus the bridal party in the rain can be a pretty stressful ordeal, but Allison and Hok, the bridal party, and the other two photo/video guys were soooo easy to work with and a lot of fun. I love them all.

And if I had to guess, I think New Yorkers know how to party hard. Take a look at these reception photos.

I am so lucky to meet this wonderful New York couple. Not just “I-found-a-dollar-on-the-floor” lucky, and even better than “I-somehow-managed-to-fart-and-cough-at-the-same-time” lucky. The kind of luck that I have with this couple is “I went skydiving without a parachute and survived” kind of lucky.

This is Allison and Hok.

Allison originally found me through my blog back in January when I went to New York City. I photographed their engagement session, and after a long string of events I ended up photographing their wedding in Brooklyn! I was sooooo ecstatic! Allison’s my number one fan, and I call her my “east coast marketing department” because she’s been so kind as to share my work with all of New York City.  Allison always comments/likes the work on my Facebook page, and I’m so so so grateful for that.

Photographing her wedding day was so much fun and very interesting to say the least. After the tea ceremony, Alllison wasn’t allowed to speak according to tradition until she drinks the special/magical sweet water. During that time she couldn’t speak it was very odd, because Allison’s usually quite the talker especially with her gnarly Brooklyn accent, which I find extremely intriguing. I used to have an obsession with accents, and nobody in Los Angeles (that I’ve met) has a Brooklyn accent. Speaking of things I’ve never heard, Hok’s got quite a unique accent, I’m not sure how to describe his accent but I think it’s safe to say it’s a mixture between an Asian accent plus a Bronx accent.

I also had one of the best photo+video crews ever (Michael and Michael), both of whom were so easy to get along with and fun to work with.

So here are half of the photos that I’m putting up, which I’m both very excited and proud of. Thank you Allison and Hok, and congratulations on your wedding!

I love this couple. I love!  I don’t even know where to begin with all my excitement.  Allison and Hok are authentic New Yorkers, and they’re some of the nicest people I’ve met. They are awesome. In fact, they are more awesome than awesome itself.

Let me tell you a little about the couple. Allison’s a Brooklyn girl, and she loves food, traveling, and everything wedding. Everything. That’s how she found me actually, she found me through my blog. The more I got to know her the more I realized she’s a lot like me. Both of us can’t seem to lie, and we both wear our feelings on our sleeves, meaning if we’re unhappy we’ll show it unintentionally, and there’s nothing we can do about it. She’s also very sociable, very cool, and very hip.

Hok likes seafood And I like seafood. Anyone who likes seafood is cool, period. And I think he said he’s going to have seafood at their wedding. I look forward to eating it, and I think Hok’s gonna make sure it’s gonna be some damn good seafood. icon smile Meet Allison and Hok. Theyre from NYC :) (Engagement)
