This one-year old sure knows how to party, because it was complete with a DJ, bartender, caterers, an appetizer table, and of course a custom hello kitty cake. I’m so amazed, my birthday parties aren’t even like this. I need to step up my game!

The food was incredible! I wish I could name the foods that were there, but to be honest, I don’t know what what the names are. But for a foodie like me, it matters not, if it’s good, it’s good, and I don’t need to know what it’s called.

Happy birthday Lia! I hope I’m invited to your birthday party next year!

When Maribel and Maria have parties, they have them big. Real BIG. They rented out an entire venue for their father’s 60th surprise birthday party. There were at least 300 people there. Not impressed?

They also had TWO food vendors. My favorite being al pastor tacos (shown below). The other was a buffet line. Still not impressed?

They had an enormous bounce house for all the children to run around and use up all their energy, so they don’t bother the adults. Still not impressed? You should at least be a little bit by now. For a birthday? It’s impressive.

This is the adorable Kaylene! Last time I photographed her, she was only 1! Now she’s three, and she can say my name! I love her!

And there’s another one! That’s Kaylene’s little sister (I believe.) Super adorable!

This is Javier! It’s kinda funny, there was an older gentlemen who walked in a minute before he did and I started snapping photos of the other guy. Then I realized it wasn’t Javier.

Okay back to the amazing aspects of the party. They had a full on mariachi. I think there were 5-6 of them, I know only two of them are show in the photo.

I don’t know what these dancers are called, but there were a crew of six very talented dancers.  Still not impressed?

Well if you’re still not impressed yet..they had a full-on band/mini-orchestra in there marching around and performing on stage.

So if you weren’t impressed by all that you must be a baller. And you need to invite me to your parties! But if you’re like me, I think you’ll agree that this was an incredible party filled with fun and good food.

The next three photos are some of my favorite from the event. They’re photos of the local highschool kids ‘breakin’ it down old skool. Being among them made me feel young sometimes, and then super old at other times.

One of my favorite artists! Clara C. She’s got soul, talent, and beauty! I look forward to doing a portrait session with her very soon!

To “sing your heart out” is an expression best shown by the lead singer of this band called “Seriously.” Seriously.

This is IZ. If you’ve never seen him teach workshops to high school kids, let me tell you, his passion for music definitely shows when he’s teaching. Seriously.

I also come to learn that a crowd can get super excited over anything that is thrown into a crowd. Be it a t-shirt (clean or sweaty), drumstick etc. etc. I think if I was ever a performer I’d throw some random trash out just to see who would try and catch it. Seriously.

These are the world renown “Gamblerz” an internationally winning b-boy crew with moves that not even the word ‘sick’ can be sufficient enough to describe.  Their moves are ‘deathly ill.”

This is none other than Kaba Modern, the offspring of UCI and America’s Best Dance Crew

This dude below is my buddy Lawrence Kao. The day before this show, he taught a dance workshop at Glen A Wilson High school (which was where him and I graduated.) Needless to say  the teeny bopper girls were so excited to see him that they formed a line to take photos with him. I was the guy that all the girls handed their camera to to take a photo of him. Yay.
