JP and Christina won this portrait session at a silent auction that I donated to. It’s the first time somebody’s ever tried to redeem their silent auction session when ever I donate. I’ve donated a few times, so it’s kind of sad, but now that somebody has finally come forth, I’m super excited! But that’s not how I met Christina and JP! They’re actually my friends already, and last year we had some awesome times in Hawaii just hanging out at the beach.

After this session we ate at the Dog Haus in Pasadena, yummy! Gourmet hot dogs. Nowadays, there’s gourmet everything, but I’m not complaining, I’m just saying.

JP and Christina brought a gazillion cute little props to their fun-session, it cracked me up. I’ve never had anyone bring so much stuff, but it was certainly a lot of fun going through all their toys figuring out which ones I wanted to use. My favorite one is the typewriter!!! It’s fully functional, compact, fun, and …it’s a type writer!!! It’s the real deal, there’s no delete button, or the number 1 button, or exclamation mark button. That’s how old school it was! So cool!!!

Before I start talking about their wedding, I still can’t get over how cool their engagement session was.  And now that I photographed their wedding I’m even more excited about one of the photos I took in this blog post. I call it battle of the bridal parties! In this rare occasion I got to photograph Maritza and Son and her ‘gang’ facing off with another bride/groom/bridal party in downtown Orange. It was so epic!!! I’m super proud of that photo. Another thing that I think is pretty awesome is their whole bridal party is so ethnically diverse. I think there’s pretty much every single ethnicity I could think of in that party. I super love diversity, and I think I’m pretty lucky to be living in southern California where there are people of different ethnic backgrounds, walks of life, ages etc. etc. I also think I’m pretty lucky to have Maritza and Son as a couple as well–they’re fun, laid-back, and so down to earth.

Maritza’s gotta be one of the coolest and most laidback brides ever. Maritza, you are so awesome. Thank you for everything. Congratulations to the both of you!
